Panimahawa Ridge

Traveled 180KM- 12hours (back and forth with stop-overs;) Rode 4 buses, 8 jeepneys, 1 racal and 1 motorcycle; Trekked 3 mountains (a total of 6 if back and forth) for 6 hours (back and forth) with a budget of Php 1,500 only. All these just to witness the sunrise at Panimahawa ridge.

 Panimahawa was the hardest climb I ever did (well if you compare it to Agad-agad which both are the only mountains I've ever climbed ) but yes, it was really hard in which I have said all the profanities  I knew because of exhaustion. "Hapit na." and "Wala ko gikapoy" was the mantra that day. A mantra which I continuously lie to myself. But all of it was worth it at the end. The sunrise was breathtaking and the fog made it more spectacular. And just a snap I did not feel the exhaustion anymore. I was happy, tremendously at that. It was a much needed hike from such stressful life.

☑ Things to bring;

▫ENERGY - it's not a joke. I would also suggest to exercise days before the trek, stretch your body.
▫Money - Php 1,500 is enough but it's all up to you.
▫Water - keep yourself hydrated all the time- 2 or more liters.
▫Sweets - pack some candies or chocolates. Aside from water you need sugar as well.
▫Camera - I would not recommend bringing DSLR since it's bulky and it's hassle to bring. But again, it's up to you.
▫Friends - ofc. A trek wouldn't be fun without them.

❔ How to get there;
➡ From CDO; go to Agura Terminal- you can either ride a Malaybalay/Bukidnon or Davao line bus. Just ask from the people there if the bus will pass by at Impalutao Elementary School.
➡ We rode a Davao line bus since there were no bus going to Malaybalay that time. We asked the bus driver to drop us off at Impalutao Elementary School. It is a 2-hour drive from CDO to Bukidnon.
➡ When we were dropped off, the school was just across the street. We went to the school's side and there is a crossing in between Impalutao Elementary School and a waiting shed. If you are not sure which crossing you can just try goggle maps and try searching the way from Impalutao Elementary School to BMeg or if you want you can put Ant Farm in your destination.
➡ We went to the crossing and walked for about 10-15 minutes. Once you see the BMeg factory go right. It will be the Ant Farm after the factory.
➡ When you reach Ant Farm, turn left and there will be a house there. It is where you pay Php 300 for the guide.
➡ After trekking at Panimahawa we walked to the highway again (Impalutao Elementary School) we rode a jeepney going to CEDAR.
➡ Before going in CEDAR we stopped by and ate at Sofia Fast Food just across the street of CEDAR. The food is good and they have lechon manok as well.
➡ After CEDAR we rode a jeepney again going to Malaybalay Bus Terminal.
